Hello Geeks,
At present I'm with Netgeer wireless modem and router two in one. But that is not giving me a good range coverage. I can use only from the next room from where it is kept on.
Someone could tel me the difference between the wireless router and access points? While I was asking the shop, they recommended me to replace my modem with wireless access point by telling that it will give me good coverage.
Hence I dono the difference, I kept that idea in pending and thought of asking y'all before going for it.
So please tell me the difference? and will it give me good coverage? also which brand is accessible for configuring it with jaws?

if you have a modem router combined you can disable the router part and feed the modem in to a third party router, and router is what you want as they are the main unit. There's debate on what routers are best i have a trendnet here and it works pretty well, sends a signal strong enough to cover my apartment a good slice of the area around me as well. It comes down to how much you'd want to spend for a router, but you'll be stuck with the modem regardless.
I'd just get the system that allows you to boost the signal. There are setups that can plug in to the router on one side and the receiver just plugs in to any outlet in the room or area you want. Access points are just the places that the signal reaches. The construction of a house can make a difference. You can also get an signal booster as well, but a better router will have better range, so all this depends on your place. I'd go with the first setup. Its cheaper, or in the US anyway, and will bring the signal right where you want it.
I've never seen a signal booster here in my country. I asked a few computer shops and they all were blinking.

Try Amazon.com they ship to India. I don't know the electrical requirements in India, but the antiina setup would do. Also call Dell, they have them and will ship to India with the correct requirements.
Will try that, thanks.
